Escape To The Country

I woke up early today because I’ve got several people coming round to view the flat…well that and the bad back sustained by some slightly too vigorous gardening. It’s taken me 6.5 months to completely renovate and for the 1st time since I bought it way back in 1999, it’s looking great. Really great in fact and it’ll be a wrench to let it go. But the upside if it does sell, is that I can begin the next chapter of my life, free of the chains of property ownership and London. Many have told me to rent it, but by selling, I’m forcing the issue – leave London, move on. And quite frankly, I miss the mountains far too much to spend another year in this city.
The plan is to buy a VW T5, kit it out as a camper van and then drive down to El Chorro in Southern Spain to stay and work at The Olive Branch with the owners, Gary & Mel for the climbing season. There’s also a 6c with my name on it in Desplomilandia…
Everything’s shaping up nicely and that’s the doorbell, so must go. The only downside to my plan? Gary’s terrible jokes! That reminds me, I must buy some earplugs.
